In a shocking incident, a 45-year-old software engineer in Maharashtra’s Kalyan has been accused of giving his 28-year-old wife a triple talaq after she refused to sleep with his boss. This heinous act was not an isolated incident, but rather the culmination of a series of abusive and exploitative demands made by the husband.

The wife, who was married to the accused in January this year, had initially enjoyed a happy relationship. However, things took a dark turn when the husband began harassing her for money, claiming he needed Rs 15 lakh to divorce his first wife. The husband’s demands became increasingly aggressive

and he even resorted to physical abuse when his wife refused to comply.
The final straw came when the husband asked his wife to sleep with his boss at a party, and she refused. Enraged, the husband gave her an instant triple talaq, a criminal offense since 2019. He then threw her out of the house, leaving her to pick up the pieces of her shattered life.
The victim has since filed a case against her husband, and the police have registered a complaint under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Act, 2019.
